NEW STUDIO SET UP
Our recording studio upgraded to a new professional Tascam (16-tracks simultaneous) digital recording studio. We are now going to record with Steinberg multi-tracking software with VST & Midi plug-ins & then do all editing and final mastering with Sony Sound Forge. For those of you who aren’t tech-savvy geeks, this basically means we have one of the sweetest new digital studio setups available and can finally compete with the “heavyweights”. To put it even more simply…It’s just a “sweet” studio.
SPRING BREAK
Okay..it’s not quite spring yet here but we are taking a break to record several new songs for the next Blue News album (among other projects). We will start playing live shows again on April 11 with a show in the Wicker Park area of CHICAGO, IL at the Piece Brewery. (See website for more show details) then we will continue to play several dates in May / June & beyond. We are hoping to have the new album ready to release in early May. NEW BAND MEMBER
A good friend, Reggie Raisner, has joined forces with the band. He has been jamming live on stage recently, doing some vocals and switching back and forth from bass and guitar, He’s also been helping in the studio as an engineer/producer & contributing various parts for the upcoming Blue News album.
Reg is one of best guitarists (& songwriters) that I’ve ever met or seen play live so it’s really awesome that he’s involved with the band now. He makes the perfect addition to what we’ve already got going with the band. The band just feels more complete now & the audience response to recent live shows and studio work has proven that the addition to the band’s lineup was the right way to go.
We have also been working in the studio on Reggie’s solo project.
Expect an album out from him in coming months!

COMPILATION CD FOR LOCAL ARTISTS
The band has been invited to join forces with other local “premier” artists for a compilation CD produced by the locals arts organization called ArtsIlliana. They will be giving away hundreds of promotional CDs to members & selling them in their public gallery. More details on release as soon as news comes along…

We will be remixing a few tracks over the next few weeks so remember you can

There's no set date for the CD release yet but it looks like it will be early
Spring 08.

Here are some new photos... Top: Kraig (drums) on the left & Brent (vox/guitar) on the right. The second photo is vocalist Raven Grant who will be singing backup on the upcoming album and last, but not least, is Reggie Raisner, who will also be featured on the new album on bass and guitar. Reggie & I will be doing a few acoustic shows around the Midwest whenever we aren't playing "full band" gigs. Anyway... I'm also adding one of the most recent songs we've been working on in the studio. It's called "Feel Alive" & it will most definitely show up on the new album "Metanoia". Enjoy!

The song "Next Time" was picked to be included on the series and the song will also be included on thousands of copies of the Road Trip Nation 2007 soundtrack!
